Over 40 Years of Proven Rubber Surfacing

Rubaroc isn’t a flooring experiment. The system traces back to 1983, and has been installed throughout North America and internationally across residential, commercial, and recreational projects ever since. Rubaroc positions itself as North America’s oldest rubber surfacing company, decades of real-world installations, in real backyards and real climates, are exactly why the material performs the way it does today.

What We Can Say With Confidence

Applications ranging from residential pool decks to commercial and recreational facilities.

40+ years of industry experience

Installed throughout North America and internationally.

What Is Rubaroc?

Rubaroc is a poured-in-place rubber surfacing system: high-performance polymer resin blended with premium rubber granules, troweled directly over your existing concrete slab. Once cured, it forms a single seamless, flexible surface, no seams, no grout lines, no separate pavers to shift or heave. Because color runs all the way through the rubber granules rather than sitting on top as a coating, it doesn’t wear thin, chip, or peel the way a painted or sprayed surface can over time.

Comfortable Underfoot

Stays comfortable in bare feet instead of absorbing and radiating heat the way bare concrete does.

Maintains solid traction around pools, splash pads, and entryways: wet or dry.

Moves with seasonal freeze-thaw cycles instead of fracturing against them.

Built to flex with small shifts in the concrete beneath it rather than telegraphing every crack.

Minor damage can typically be repaired in place, without heavy equipment or a full re-pour.

A non-porous surface that cleans up with routine sweeping or hosing; no annual sealing required.

Where Rubarok Works Best

Pool Decks & Patios

This is where Rubaroc shines. A cool, slip-resistant surface around the pool means bare feet, kids, and pool chemicals are no longer a hazard combination, and your patio gets a soft, seamless finish that’s comfortable to sit, walk, and lounge on.

Beyond the pool deck, Rubaroc holds up to daily foot and vehicle traffic while resisting the freeze-thaw cracking and salt damage that break down traditional concrete and pavers over an Indiana winter.

For backyard play sets, daycare play yards, and community play areas, Rubaroc’s cushioned surface helps absorb impact from falls while standing up to constant foot traffic season after season.

Outback also installs Rubaroc for commercial and municipal clients, splash pads, daycare centers, and public recreation areas, where slip resistance, durability under heavy use, and low ongoing maintenance matter as much as appearance.

Built for Northeast Indiana Weather

Fort Wayne winters put outdoor surfaces through real freeze-thaw stress, and de-icing salt takes its toll on anything rigid. Rubaroc’s flexibility is a genuine advantage here: instead of fighting the seasonal expansion and contraction that cracks concrete and paint, it moves with it. That’s true whether we’re finishing a pool deck in Fort Wayne, a patio in Huntington, or a play area in Auburn or Angola.

Professionally Installed by Outback

Rubaroc joins Outback’s existing lineup of commercial-grade coating systems, the same team behind our Armor Core System™ interior and garage floors now brings that same done-right approach to outdoor rubber surfacing. You get a proven, decades-old material, installed by a local Fort Wayne crew that shows up, protects your property during installation, and stands behind the result.

Every Rubaroc installation is backed by a strong warranty; see “The Outback Warranty Difference” (Piece 4) for how we plan to explain that in plain English.

Rubaroc traces back to 1983 and has decades of installations across North America and internationally, this isn’t a new or unproven material.

Most residential pool decks and patios are completed in about a day, so you’re back to using the space quickly.

No. Slip resistance, even when wet, is one of Rubaroc’s core features, which is exactly why it’s popular around pools and splash pads.

Rubaroc is available in a range of UV-stable colors. Ask your Outback design consultant for current color and finish options for your project.

Routine sweeping or hosing is typically all that’s needed. There’s no annual sealing or re-coating required like with some other surfaces.
