Unlike coatings that sit on top of the concrete, polished concrete is achieved by working the slab itself into the finished surface. We grind through a series of progressively finer diamond pads, each pass cutting deeper into the material and refining the surface, until the concrete reaches the sheen level you’ve selected. A chemical hardener is applied during the process to densify the slab, closing its pores and creating a surface that resists staining, abrasion, and moisture without a topical coating of any kind.

Polished concrete is the only floor finish that actually gets better over time. The process uses industrial diamond grinding equipment to cut and refine the concrete surface through a series of progressively finer passes, building to a finish that can range from a clean matte to a deep, reflective gloss. A densifying hardener is worked into the slab during the process, permanently closing the concrete’s pores and creating a surface that’s harder, denser, and more stain-resistant than it was the day it was poured.
What you end up with is a floor that has no coating to delaminate, no wax to strip, and no finish that degrades under UV exposure or heavy use. Sweep it regularly, mop it occasionally with a neutral cleaner, and it maintains its appearance indefinitely.
